Another Day in Paradise

I know I have been a very veryy verrrryyyy bad blogger! I am so sorry for not updating my blog and being MIA for like a month or so!! But hey, I'M BACK!!

If you're following me on Instagram, you would know that I have been on a little vacation with my hubby to Phuket and Koh Samui -Thailand-! It was one of our best holidays ever, it was super fun and amazingly beautiful!

In the streets of Samui...

In phuket we stayed in Centara Grand beach resort, very beautiful and family friendly -If you want to bring your kids along-. It has 4 swimming pools (plus the lazy river, water-slides,  waterfalls, and lots of pool activities), they also have a direct access to the beach!

A little view of Centara Grand Beach Resort <3

Poolside...

Phuket was fun and a lively place to go to, Patong was one of the main touristic attractions in Phuket that is known to have a crazy nightlife that begins from 9 p.m onwards, you can watch live bands, fun shows, and local shopping stalls are open till 4 a.m.!

My favorite drink was the coconut water, super hydrating and yummy!

We took a full day tour to Phi Phi Island from the hotel, but you can get a waaaaay more cheaper tours anywhere there, but we thought that if we take it from the hotel it would be a VIP-ish cleaner version from the ones you get from the streets. And it was actually very neat and just like what we expected.

List of the islands we've been to...

Phi Phi Island tour was the far best place we have ever been to, you can enjoy the sun, beach, and scenery! It has clear blue water, waves were gentle, white sand, and soft breeze, what else could we ask for?! And we got to see one of Phi Phi islands "Maya Bay" where the movie "The Beach" was filmed.

I still can't believe that I swam here in this breathtaking crystal blue sea!!! Unforgettable indeed! ^ ^

In Samui we stayed in the Six Senses, it's more of a relaxing and very private which is suitable for couples getaway and honeymoons. It has this humongous beautiful infinity pool with breathtaking scenery! There is only one thing that I really didn't enjoy much in the hotel which was the way to the villas; they are all situated over the hill, so we had to walk up and down the hills to reach our villa, and I'm telling you, it gets really creepy at night -mostly to me, cause I really HATE and scared of insects and pests-. Other than that, it was magical and a beautiful true experience for both of us!

We stayed in an ocean front pool villa suit in the Six Senses, it's a pretty big and spacious villa consisted of one bedroom, a living room, walk-in-closet, 2 bathrooms with an indoor and outdoor showers, a private pool, and a dining area by the pool. The living room could be transformed into another bedroom as the sitting area is pretty BIG and comfy!

Snapshots of our villa in the Six Senses...

Ocean view directly from our villa!! Isn't it heavenly?

Our vacation to Thailand was a wonderful experience, the only downfall that I mainly experienced and bothered my husband about was the insects and mosquitoes, they were EVERYWHERE! But all in all, it was a phenomenal holiday, very relaxing with heavenly scenery. ^ ^

I buy banana nutella crepe almost every time we go out! ^ ^

Fresh fruits everywhere...

Enjoying a plate of my favorite tropical Fruits

And another yummy crepe... ^ ^

Couscous Salad with Roasted Cherry Tomatoes and Mushroom

Couscous is one of my favorite variety of starchy food, and I love to incorporate it mostly in my salads -It is also known that couscous is among the healthiest grain-based products!-.

Here is what you will need to prepare this salad:

- A drizzle of olive oil
- A pinch of garlic powder
- 1/4 cup of couscous
- 1/3 cup or about less than a half cup of water
- 1/4 cup cherry tomatoes (Halved)
- 3 mushrooms (Halved)
- A small bunch of spinach

- Drizzle the cherry tomatoes and mushrooms with some olive oil, pinch of salt and pepper and pop them into the oven for about 10 minutes 180 c.

- Until they get roasted, in a saucepan, bring water to boil. Add salt and stir, then add couscous and directly remove from heat and let it sit for about 5 minutes. Couscous should absorb all the water, fluf with fork and sprinkle with garlic powder.

Little Tip: You can add vegetable stock instead of  water to add more flavor to the couscous!

- Mix the spinach leaves along with couscous, cherry tomatoes and mushrooms and serve immediately.

Enjoy your warm salad!

For the Love of Shabby Chic

To all the shabby chic-ers, on the 9th of March 2013 I went to this breath-taking tea party soft launch for Pachachic. It's the Kingdom's first shabby chic store where they sell unique and affordable shabby chic, vintage-style home accessories that compliments any home!

They hosted the launch at Block 338 restaurant, and they beautifully transformed the whole place into this heavenly cottage chic theme, showcasing and selling some of their furniture pieces and home decor goods. They also designated a huge table with beautiful pastel and floral settings filled with scrumptious dessert, pop-cakes, cupcakes, tea, and much more!! Not forgetting to mention the little corner that added a playful touch to the launch, Photo-booth with a beautiful vintage floral backdrop along with pretty props and bloggers related signs and logos!

Enjoy the photos my lovely followers...

Well, I am happy to introduce Lave Affair to you my lovely readers! Artisan hand-made soaps and bath products  proudly made in Bahrain with the finest and most luxurious ingredients. But I gotta warn you guys; you are going to wish that you could just smell the images in this blog post, because they smell sooo deliciously good!!

Lave Affair products are all 100% natural. There are no harsh chemicals added, so you guys don't have to worry about chemicals adversely affecting your skin! Enriched with various natural essential oils and plants extract like olive oil, coconut oil, Almonds, honey and lavender extract to give the products their aroma and leaves your skin soft and glowing! Using natural soaps is a great way for cleaning your body that also leaves it soft and smell wonderful!

Dry skin is caused by many factors, including hot showers, frequent bathing, weather, central heating/ air conditioning, sun exposure, and harsh soaps. Lave Affair bath and body products has the wonderful quality of bringing back the moisture into the skin. It has the ability to cleanse without removing natural oils from  your skin that leaves it smooth and velvety...

My skin tends to be dry most of the time, especially in winter. After using some of Lave Affair soaps and body products, I just can't describe to you how soft my skin is now with less signs of dryness!!

From top to bottom: Lavender, Raspberry + Lemonade, Honey + Almond

The owners; Huda Hammoud and her husband Zulfiqar Naushad ventured into soap making several years ago. They both had a long history of dry and cracked skin and all commercial soaps and body washes were exacerbating the problem. During a trip to Lebanon, Huda tried some natural soap and found that her dry skin problem had reduced dramatically! And from that point, they both began their journey to search for natural solutions for their skin problems.

Huda was taught soap making by one of the premiere soap makers in Lebanon. Utilizing old-world natural soap recipes with new-world techniques and scents, and she has created virtual works of art for daily uses!

Lave Affair products made me look forward to jump into the shower and use their products to pamper myself and enjoy the beautiful fragrance! Wishing Lave Affair all the best and continuous growth in their soapy business. Very proud of you!! =)
